Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War Department of Tennessee (including Alabama) Missionary Ridge Camp #63 Minutes of the meeting held Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Wally's Restaurant in East Ridge, Tennessee. Members present: James Fletcher, Mark Steele, Mark Kemp, Robert Dobbs, Charles Engle and Harvey Scarborough plus several special guests of the members. |
| CALL TO ORDER: Commander Fletcher called the meeting to order at
approximately 12:55 PM ET following our lunch. INVOCATION: Commander Fletcher gave the opening prayer. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Commander Fletcher led the camp in the pledge to the flag of the United States of America. |

OLD BUSINESS: Commander Fletcher called for old business. There was no old business to discuss. NEW BUSINESS: Treasurer's Report: Charles Engle reported a treasury balance of $580 and some change as of October 31, 2011. Those present were reminded that dues are now due for 2012. Several members paid their individual dues of $27 at this meeting. Upcoming Events: Charles Engle reminded everyone of the upcoming 150th anniversary Civil War events around this area in the next 12 months, including but not limited to: Forts Henry & Donelson, Shiloh, Mill Springs, Second Bull Run, Antietam, Stones River. It was noted that several re-enactments would commemorate these events as well.
Officer Nominations: After some discussion, it was stated that those persons currently holding office would accept nomination to hold office for another year if elected. It was noted that Mark Kemp would serve as Patriotic Instructor due to Tommy Smith's absences. It was further noted that those persons holding appointed positions would be willing to serve again as well.

NEXT MEETING: It was decided to meet at 1:00 PM Eastern Time on Saturday, February 4, 2012 during the
annual Chickamauga Civil War Show and Sale at the Dalton Convention and Trade Center in Dalton, Georgia. BENEDICTION: Mark Kemp gave the Benediction. ADJOURN: There being no further business to come before the camp, Commander Fletcher adjourned the meeting at approximately 1:40 PM.
