FIFTEENTH ANNUAL DEPARTMENT of
TENNESSEE (including ALABAMA) ENCAMPMENT

SONS OF THE UNION VETERANS OF THE CIVIL WAR

The Fifteenth Annual Encampment will be held 30January2010 at the Microtel Inn, 7014 McCutcheon Road, Chattanooga, Tenn., 37421. The telephone is 423-510-0761 or toll free 1-800-771-7171 and the fax is 423-510-8473. Ten rooms are being held until 15Jan10 at a rate of $40.95 for a single and 45.95 for a double. Thus two brothers can rent a double and not have to be "spooners" or "fox hole buddies" and reduce their motel cost to under $25 a night. When you make your reservation please tell the clerk that you are with the SUVCW.

Access is convenient to Interstate 75 and the Chattanooga airport. The airport is three miles and the directions from I-75 are:
Use Exit 5 (Shallowford Road), ---from the south exit right and go left (west) crossing over the Interstate;
from the north simply exit and go right or west on Shallowford Road.
Turn right on Shallowford Village Drive. Turn left on McCutcheon Road. Hotel is located 1 block on left.

Missionary Ridge Camp #63 has made every effort in consideration of the difficult economic times to find a suitable Encampment site at a reasonable rate, and we feel we have done so. Registration fee for Brothers is $5.00.

If enough interest is shown a commemorative badge will available at cost. No formal Dinner is planned until a reasonable estimate can be made of attendees. Rather than enter into an obligation with a caterer at this time we will go to one of the local restaurants as a group and eat together. If the outlook for attendees is sufficient the other plans will be made.

James Ogden, Chickamauga National Battlefield Park Historian, will present a program on the battle and the related campaign. Ranger Ogden is well known and respected in his field, presenting many programs on television, radio, and personal appearances.
