To: Missionary Ridge Camp # 63 SUVCW From: JAMES D FLETCHER (jdfletcher@farmerstel.com) Date:Mon, Jan 3, 2012 11:54 am. To: Officers of MRC #63 Camp SUVCW I received this request from the Kennesaw Mountain Camp #3. They are going to observe the 150th Anniversary of Andrew's Railroad Raid in April. Read the message from Commander Hale included. I have given him my response, but I need to know what you other officers think and get back with me. With F,C, & L,

Commander Hale,
I'm sure our Camp would like to participate and be co-sponsors of the
Sesquicentennial Signature Event in April. Since your Camp has researched
the history of Andrew's Railroad Raid and its details, I think it would be
more appropriate that we be co-sponsors. I have no problem with the
jurisdiction matter, we all have to cooperate with each other. I'm sure
our Camp will be most responsive to this and serve in any way we can.
I am going to forward your message to our officers and get their response
and will get back with you.
I checked the Department of Tennessee SUVCW website a little while ago
and is there, but it hasn't been brought up to date.

Commander Fletcher,
I am the Commander of Kennesaw Mountain Camp 3, SUVCW. We are currently planning a
Sesquicentennial Signature Event to commemorate the Andrew's Railroad raid on the
14th of April 2012. The basic itinerary for the day will be to start at the Kennesaw
House in Marietta, Georgia early in the morning, travel by bus to the Southern Museum
of Civil War and Railroad History in Kennesaw, Georgia for a brief ceremony in front
of the "General", and then travel along the route of the raid, stopping at some of the
high points along the way. We would like to culminate our day's activities at the
Chattanooga National Cemetery at the graves of the raiders. My question to you is:
Would Missionary Ridge Camp 63 like to conduct the ceremony at the Chattanooga
National Cemetery? Or would your Camp like to be co-sponsors of the Sesquicentennial
Signature event? At the very least, would you give us permission to come into your
jurisdiction to conduct the ceremony at the Chattanooga National Cemetery? Because
of National's new rules for Signature Events we have to send our Application by the 14th of January.
Let me know what you think.
Just as an aside, you might want to contact the webmaster for the Department of Tennessee.
Seems he has let the domain expire, and the site is no longer available.
